Ole Andre Braten
Spesialist in Industrial and Organizational Psychology I Academic Author & Keynote Speaker
Ole André Bråten has spent 30 years at the intersection of organizational psychology, crisis leadership, and human factors under pressure - at the operational, strategic, and academic level. He is a specialist in work and organizational psychology, and one of the Nordic region's most experienced practitioners in organizational resilience and decision-making discipline in complex, high-stakes situations.
As Norway's national representative to NATO and through service in UN international operations, he has worked with crisis management at the highest level. As a Police Superintendent and Assistant Professor at the Norwegian Police University College, he has translated theory into operational practice.
As an independent advisor, he has supported leaders and organizations across Norway and the Nordic region from 2010 - with analysis and strategic counsel in situations where the consequences of poor judgment are significant.
Following the 2011 terrorist attacks in Norway, he served for several years as an embedded advisor to government structures at the centre of the crisis - supporting long-term recovery, organizational learning, and institutional rebuilding.
His books on crisis management, conflict handling, and organizational psychology are published by Cappelen Damm Academic and internationally by Routledge and Wiley-Blackwell. They are used at universities, in public sector institutions, and by national emergency preparedness communities across the Nordic countries.
Bråten is a widely used keynote speaker and conference facilitator for Nordic organizations and professional communities. His work combines operational depth, psychological insight, and strategic understanding. This combination is used by leaders and organizations that need precise analysis and decision-ready intelligence that holds under pressure - in both everyday operations and crisis.
He contributes regularly to national and regional press, professional media, and academic conferences – and has been quoted and interviewed by Aftenposten, VG, Dagbladet, NRK, and Forsvarets Forum, among others.
Keynote Speaker engagements
Bråten’s keynote engagements are grounded in extensive cross-sector experience from organizations with critical responsibilities for safety, trust, and continuity. His work spans emergency preparedness and security, justice and regulatory authorities, defence and national security, healthcare and social services, education, energy and industrial sectors, finance and professional services, technology and digital infrastructure, transportation and logistics, media and communication, retail and service industries, as well as voluntary, non-profit, and membership-based organizations.
This breadth enables him to address diverse professional audiences - from frontline personnel and specialists to senior leadership teams, executive boards, and cross-sector forums.
His keynotes translate complex dynamics related to risk, leadership, governance, and psychosocial work environments into clear, relevant, and actionable insight, tailored to the operational realities and decision-making responsibilities of each audience.
